Feather Friendly® window markers are the easy-to-use solution for preventing bird collisions with residential glass surfaces.
Compared to film coverings, Feather Friendly® window markers are highly effective in making the area visible to birds and preventing deadly collisions, while remaining unobtrusive to humans. The markers are placed on the outside of the window and are designed to reduce surface reflection without causing damage to the exterior glass area. Our product is endorsed by a number of bird conservation organizations, including the Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) and the American Bird Conservancy.

Since 2005, Feather Friendly® window applications have been designed to withstand the elements. Fabricated using a proprietary combination of high-quality products, including 3M™, Feather Friendly® continues to outperform yearly, even in the harshest weather conditions or frequent window cleanings.
The 1 Roll Kit *White* contains the following components:
- One 100 ft. roll of *White* Feather Friendly Residential Marker Tape (1/4” squares, 2” spacing)
- Measuring Tapes (2)
- Installation Instructions (click to view full installation instructions)
- Marker-pattern Tape coverage: One 100 ft. roll protects a glass surface (2′.5 x 6′.5 feet) or (16 square feet) of glass patio door, glass panel railing, or equivalent window area.
Installation & Cleaning Instructions
Application Temperature: Marker-pattern Tape should not be installed below 10°C or 50°F. Make sure your window is clean before applying the markers.

Your Questions Answered.
Can I still wash my windows after the markers have been applied?
Yes! Feather Friendly is designed to withstand regular window washings for many years. After the initial installation, allow the adhesive to set for 24 hours. Then you can clean with a cloth, paper towels, or rubber squeegee, and you can use typical cleaning products for glass, including soap and water and glass cleaners like Windex. However, we recommend against using pressure washers or abrasive cleaners
Can I put the markers on the inside of my window?
As with any product designed to prevent birds hitting glass, Feather Friendly is far less effective if placed on the inside of the glass. Birds must be able to see the markers in order to avoid them (and thus avoid the glass). Reflections of the sky or nearby vegetation on the glass—as well as glare from sunlight—can make it impossible for birds to see anything that is placed on the inside of a window. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you apply Feather Friendly to the outside of your window
But I can’t easily reach the outside of my window—what should I do?
Consider hiring a local window washer or handyman to apply Feather Friendly for you. Window washers will have the equipment needed to access difficult-to-reach windows. Also, the glass should be cleaned before applying Feather Friendly anyway! Many customers have reported to us that their local window washer was eager to add “installing Feather Friendly” to their professional skillset
How long does it take to install Feather Friendly?
It depends on how much glass you plan to cover, but generally speaking, an area of glass roughly the size of a sliding glass patio door takes 1-3 hours. The first rows of markers take longer as you are getting used to working with the material, but after a while, the application should become easier and faster.
